Middlewood Development of the Canal Salford
During my recent trip to UK I managed to stop at the site of the restoration of the Manchester Bolton & Bury canal at Middlewood, just off Oldfield Road in Salford. I skipped over the fence for a close look. Not much to see but you can see the tunnel where the canal is coming through from the Irwell. The area between the tunnel and the next section is just rubble with no certain definition of where the canal is but further up the old lock has been excavated and is clearly visible.
