Great Uncle Dick

I have recently been contacted by my second cousin Barbara Weston who descends from my Grandfathers brother Thomas. After the tragic death of our Great Grandmother Sarah Jane Thorlby at the early age of 34, our Great Grandfather James Weston was left with 4 children, the eldest my Grandfather went into the Merchant Navy, Florence went into nursing the other two, Thomas, Barabara´s Grandfather went into Dr Barnado`s childrens home at the tender age of 5 and the infant Richard went to a foster family and eventually to Canada as a "Home" child. Our family has been apart for a century, it is amazing we have linked up again.
